KAI's Darren James Speaks at CEFPI Conference, Leads Tour of Dade Middle School

The Council for Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI) hosted the 2014 Annual Southern Region Conference in Dallas, Texas on April 11-12. To continue with CEFPI's mission to improve the places where children learn, this year's conference theme was FUTURE READY: Passion. Purpose. Perspective. KAI's Darren James led an educational session entitled, "A Student's Leaning Dashboard is Uniquely Their Own," and showcased a future-ready educational environments to conference attendees by leading a tour of the newly completed Billy Earl Dade Middle School.

 

Darren's session posed the question, "How can future-ready educational environments prepare students to meet the varying demands of success?" The session focused on the multi-faceted aspects of the learning environment needed for 21st century learning: real-world context with both global and local community connections. Together with KAI Project Architect Derwin Broughton, AIA, Darren James led conference attendees on a tour of DISD's Dade Middle School. KAI provided architectural design for the new, state-of-the-art school.
