Midwest Construction magazine is pleased to announce the complete list of winners for its Best of 2010 awards program. The annual competition recognizes construction and design excellence from eight Midwestern states. An independent jury of industry experts evaluated 175 nominated projects Sept. 16 at the McGraw-Hill offices in Chicago.

KAI Design & Build is the general contractor and architect for the Arlington Grove development. Developer McCormack Baron Salazar’s $30 million plan to redevelop a block-long stretch of properties in north St. Louis was approved for a 15-year tax abatement for the project. Female inmates have begun moving into the new state-of-the-art Chillicothe Correctional Center (CCC), designed by the design-build team of KAI Design & Build of St. Louis, Mo.; DLR Group of Overland Park, KS; and JE Dunn Construction Company of Kansas City, MO.
KAI Design & Build has completed a 10,000-square-foot addition to the Mount Grace Convent at 1438 E. Warne Avenue in St. Louis, MO. The convent is home to the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters, known as the "Pink Sisters" because of their unique rose-colored habits.
